With the Iserine Herbstii you bring a very special plant into your home! The Iresine Herbstii is also known as the ‘Steak Plant’. Originally from Brazil, this special plant owes its unique nickname to its leaves, which, according to plant experts, resemble steaks. It may not be very well known, but the rare steak plant is great fun to bring into your home or give as a gift! It fits well into many interior styles and can go outside in after the Ice Saints which makes it even more versatile. The Iserine Herbstii ‘Rich Red Star’ has beautiful dark green-red leaves with deep red leaf markings that bring color to any room.
Care guide
The Steak Plant prefers a spot with lots of light, but without direct sunlight. For example, the perfect spot is in front of a north-facing window. It is important that the soil of the plant is always slightly moist, but be careful not to leave a layer of water at the bottom of the pot. In fact, this can cause root rot. It is best to water the plant in small amounts at a time. In winter, the plant needs little water.
